The increasing importance of data for our business operations and innovations has led us to a distributed Data-Mesh architecture, which makes us better prepared for the future. Our platform team has now laid the foundation and the first compiled datasets (data products) are available. We are now ready for the next step: developing new data products for the business. You are:
- responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the data lifecycle, from creation and collection to preparation, usage, storage, and deletion;
- work closely together with the Data Product Owner for the Customer Domain and provide the groundwork for creating Data Products with clear business value;
- responsible for analyzing and solving data quality issues, defining and registering Golden datasets & data products including metadata, data lineage, definitions and the Business data model within your domain;
- ensure that the data lineage is in order, we know exactly which data is available for consumption and where it is consumed;
- support use case owners in drawing up a complete and clearly designed use case, review the desired data and validate data sharing agreements;
- the data quality coordinator. Together with the business, you define the data quality requirements, set the right priority on various data issues and ensure that effective resolution;
- do not shy away from a conversation with stakeholders which are scattered across the globe;
- proactive, persistent and know how to intervene at the right time with your sharp eye.
Working environment
The Data Steward Customer is part of the Data Office team within Clearing Data Management. Clearing Data Management consists of the following teams: Data Office, Data Value Creation and Data Products and reports to the Data Domain Owner (DDO). Additionally three regional data managers (APAC, EU and US) also report to the DDO.
Data Stewards are functionally assigned to the Data Product team in this case mainly towards the Customer Domain. You work closely together with the Sales and Client Services teams who are your main direct stakeholders. Also you will interact with the Customer Data Solutions within the mainbank as a stakeholder in ABN AMRO’s Federated Data Government (FDGM) programme.

Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as customer domain, finance, risk, data management or data analyst (fair knowledge on Enterprise Party Reference and Salesforce or other CRM systems is a bonus);
- Proven experience in data modelling and affinity with data warehouse/ lake environments
- Proven experience in data governance policies & procedures and is able to improve data processes and policies;
- Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey requirements in a clear and accessible manner;
- Effective cross-functional collaboration skills with stakeholders at multiple levels in the organization;
- You are a self starter, curious, persistent, eager to learn and have a can do attitude.
- Understanding of data management concepts, principles and practices throughout the entire data lifecycle;
- Promote data stewardship principles within the organization, educating peers on the importance of data governance;
- Affinity with the financial securities industry is a bonus;
- Fluent in English (Dutch is a bonus).
Depending on your knowledge and experience, the position will be graded accordingly. A personality test will be part of this recruitment process.

We are offering
- A gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
- The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
- Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
- Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
