About the Role
As a Data Steward, you are responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, and reliability of data within the organization. You act as the link between IT, business, and data analytics. Together with other data specialists, you implement policies, procedures, and tools that provide transparency and control over the entire data lifecycle.
What will you do?
- Draft, implement, and enforce data governance guidelines and standards.
- Collaborate with data owners, analysts, engineers, and other stakeholders within the organization.
- Detect and resolve data quality issues such as duplicates, missing values, and inconsistencies.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a data catalog.
- Manage metadata and ensure consistent definitions of data elements.
- Monitor data flows and identify anomalies or risks related to data quality.
- Organize awareness and training sessions on data quality and governance within the organization.
Your Profile
- You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in information management, computer science, data science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of demonstrable experience in a role such as Data Steward, Data Manager, or within data governance.
- In-depth knowledge of data quality principles, with experience in applying frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK or DCAM.
- Familiarity with regulations such as GDPR and the ability to translate them into workable procedures.
- Experience with tools such as Collibra, Informatica, Talend, or Microsoft Purview is a plus.
- Strong command of both Dutch and English, written and spoken.
- Strong analytical skills, self-starter, and excellent communication abilities with a sense for organizational dynamics.
